D10 Camera Reviews Roundup

CameraLabs: "The most distinctive thing about the D10 and one of it's strengths, is its design and apearance. Slightly bigger than most compacts, with rounded edges, matt-metallic-style surfaces and an enclosed lens housing it not only looks the part but is easy to use in the water. The quality of the imag..." - Oct 13 2009 More »
Pocket-lint: "Overall performance for still shooting is very good, with nice bold colours leaping out. Beautifully rich greens are perhaps offset by a tendency to over-saturate reds, but these things are easily adjusted post-shoot and it doesn't mar the images overall. High-contrast scenes are handled rathe..." - Sep 29 2009 More »
ePhotoZine: "After the disappointing results of the landscape image and all the noise on it, I'm keen to see the noise test results. From a photographers point of view, it doesn't look too good with mild colour inavading at the lowest ISO80 setting. This doesn't really change much until ISO400 where it becomes..." - Aug 06 2009 More »
PhotoReview Australia: "Pictures taken with the test camera looked natural under most types of lighting but they appeared a little soft when enlarged. Boosting the sharpness with the adjustment provided in the Custom mode in the My Colours sub-menu corrected this deficiency. Examples are reproduced below. Contrast and..." - Jul 24 2009 More »

CNET: "To test how rugged the D10 was, we subjected it to rigorous tests which we normally wouldn't try on a normal point-and-shoot. We dropped the D10 repeatedly from waist level and kicked it around on both carpeted and concrete surfaces. There were only minor dings and scratches on the shooter but it w..." - Jul 04 2009 More »
Engadget: "When you consider that this is an 'underwater camera,' which typically arrive with lackluster image quality as a trade off for their adeptness in the seas, we'd say this is easily one of the best we've seen. While out of water, we generated results that were on par, if not slightly better than our..." - Jun 28 2009 More »

TechRadar: "The PowerShot D10 is Canon's first attempt at a waterproof compact, and straight away it looks different from the rest. With a chunky, bulbous design that certainly looks the part, but which may have been needed to accommodate a larger, more conventional lens. The zooming and Autofocus speeds a..." - Jun 25 2009 More »
DCR: "There really isn't much to complain about with the D10. It's cheaper than the closest competitor from Olympus, it goes a little deeper than many of the other underwater cameras in its class, and it has the toughest wrist strap ever to grace a compact digital. I've been using Canons for more than 10..." - Jun 15 2009 More »

PhotographyBLOG: "In many ways using the Canon PowerShot D10 is much like using any other Canon point-and-shoot compact. Ignore the rather obvious external design differences, and you'll find that the D10 offers the usual blend of intuitive handling, sensible design and largely dependable image quality. It shares a..." - May 14 2009 More »

Great underwater Camera, N. Yazvenko - Mar 11 2010
I borrowed this camera from a friend for my trip to Hawaii. It was easy to operate, and took great underwater pictures even when I forgot to turn on the underwater mode. I think that it's weight is irrelevant, as with a strap it floats in water. I liked it's shape, it was easy to hold. It's battery lasted more than three hours of continuous picture taking without flash. Flash did deplete...

Great pictures, so-so videos, N/A - Mar 11 2010
I bought this for my very active husband for Christmas. He rides BMX, snowmobiles, snowboards, waterskis, rides horses...you name it. So far, he has only used it for snowmobile shots and shots of our kids (1 and 2 1/2) at home. The pictures are really pretty good. The camera only has a 3x zoom, but that seems pretty typical of the "hardier" cameras. That it's 12 megapixel seems to...

Worked perfectly, Ian W. Ellis - Mar 08 2010
I bought this camera for a snorkel trip to Virgin Islands. It worked perfectly. It was in and out of the water probably 15 times over a four day period. I'm guessing as deep as 20 feet. Took over 600 picks and seven videos. Very happy with the optics. I suggest that when you open a sealed door, open it so that gravity will pull water droplets away from the camera. Once I opened the batte...

great camera - sturdy!, Patti W. Rowland - Mar 04 2010
its nice to have a camera you can use to take pics while you play around in the snow and not be worried that it is going to get wet and damaged....
