Canon Powershot S95 Camera Reviews Roundup

SeriousCompacts: "Pros: small size; "large" sensor for a compact; bright, sharp LCD screen; intuitive controls (or at least they can be quickly learned); programmable selector ring around the lens; lens fairly fast at f/2 at the wide end; lens has good optical quality (though clearly there is some adjusting going on in software); good build quality with metal body; built-in flash with slow curtain and variable output option..." - Jun 16 2011 More »

PhotographyBay: "As with its big brother, the G12, the Canon S95 delivers pretty good image quality thanks to its 10MP sensor and the ability to capture images in RAW format. The resolution isn't going to be as high as other typical point and shoot cameras that offer 14+ megapixels; however, the overall quality of images will generally outshine what you get from the run-of-the-mill point and shooter. Noise handling is above-ave..." - Mar 29 2011 More »

CameraGear: "We'll say it again, the S95 probably will not and should not be the first choice for control-happy advanced photographers. For these photographers, the S95 is easily overshadowed by Panasonic's excellent LX5, which does just about everything the S95 can't. The S95 doesn't have a hot shoe, can't use a viewfinder, lacks an ND filter, suffers from sub-par battery life, offers no grip whatsoever, doesn't provide a posit..." - Feb 18 2011 More »
MacWorld: "What makes the S95 so similar to the G12 is its mix of manual controls and fun-to-use features. Color Accent, Color Swap, Miniature mode, HDR mode, and Fisheye scene mode broaden your creative horizons without requiring you to perform post-production work or image editing. Exposure bracketing, focus bracketing, aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual modes are also in the mix for photographers who prefe..." - Feb 02 2011 More »

Great Camera, chef michael - May 05 2013
Takes beautiful pictures, easy to operate, small enough to carry everywhere. Wish I were a better photographer, but this camera will make me one....

Great camera, R. Thomas - May 05 2013
The S95 is hard to beat. The color from the CCD sensor is the color that Canon built their world wide reputation on. It is just beautiful. The lens is fast and sharp (with a little help from a software editor). But the zoom range is not as wide or long as the S100. The autofocus is slow and write time to the card is slow, forget action work. The fill flash is random, goo...
