Nikon Coolpix S6100 Camera Reviews Roundup

Steve's Digicam - May 17 2011
"The overall quality of our outdoor images is good, but not great. Exposures and colors are excellent, but the problem comes from the amount of noise that you find when looking at the image at 100%. Even at ISO 80, there is enough noise to soften the sharp edges within the image. While it won't make a difference in prints 8x10 and under, you will see it in l..." More »

User Review of the camera - Nikon Coolpix S6100

Some Lag time, otherwise it's a nice little camera, Laura "Laura"
I enjoy taking wild life photo's, so, this got to be a frustration. If your have people pose, you'll be fine. It's hard to capture wild life and they don't pose. It does have a continuous setting, so, you can have some luck with that. I ended up buying the P510 by Nikon, and love it!

This is a pretty decent camera. It has good zoom and the pictures come out pretty well. And it's pretty simple to use.

The charger did not last long, I had purchased 2 batteries. The factory made me pay for the simple part replacement.

The pictures are not sharp. Lot of shake in many pictures, Shopper
    Verified Purchase(
This camera supposedly compensates for the hand shake using its moving lenses. But a lot of pictures end up shaky. The colors are vivid and lively in the pictures. Hold the camera very still and the pictures will turn out be really good

didn't last long, History Buff "cp5249"

Bought the camera in November, 2011 and it died a couple of weeks ago. It won't focus and I got a "lens error" message eventually. I went online and found that a lot of people had this same issue.
It took very good pictures and decent video while it lasted but I'm not going to spend as much on a new camera and will definitely not get a Nikon. It's a shame as they used to be the best name in cameras.

Worst camera ever, Seth J Reuter
Bought this camera before going on vacation and practiced with it for about a week. Went on vacation and found that the battery failed after only half a day of picture-taking. Ended up using iPhone camera as backup but wanted stand alone camera for higher MP quality photos for printing later. Unable to return for refund so I kept the camera and thought the problem was the overseas adaptor so continued to use in the states. Found that using it for videos drained battery instantly. Photos only didnt drain as quickly. Contacted Nikon and they won't stand behind it at all. My negligence in not returning to camera immediately. Would not buy another Nikon point and shoot.

    Great camera!, PCB,FL
I've had this camera for 3 years now. It takes beautiful pictures, the zoom is extremely good for a P&S, and this camera has held up so well. It has been all over the country with me, and has worked beautifully for any occassion. (Grand Canyon, Las Vegas lights, Professional baseball game lights, Orlando theme parks, the beach, when I say everywhere, this camera has been all over with me). I do keep it in a hard shell case in my purse, and I carry it every day since photography is my hobby. This camera hasn't failed me in any way. I would not recommend it for complete beginners, as it has many features that are customizable, and a beginner might not know what to do with them all. But then again, it has an Auto setting, so it could just be set on Auto and they could use it that way any time. The touch screen is one of the best things about this camera. Very convenient and easy to use. There are so many settings, like sunset, fireworks, etc., it would be hard not to find a setting that fits your needs.

This is a good product but it takes approx. four seconds for it to take the photo once you hit the shutter button.

This is even better than the slightly older version I have. The pictures are fantastically clear and I really like the touch screen.
