Video: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye Lens Review by DigitalRev2011-08-05 06:23
Along with the EOS 60D DSLR announcement, Canon also announced six new L-series EF lenses - the EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens, EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens, EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM super-telephoto lens, Canon Extender EF 1.4x III and Extender EF 2x III.
The EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens is the world's widest fisheye zoom lens for capturing 180-degree angle-of-view shots. This lens features both UD and aspherical lens elements to enhance image quality and is equipped with rubber gaskets and seals to enhance weather resistance. Canon's proprietary SWC (Sub Wavelength Structure Coating) is used to minimize flare and a new fluorine anti-smear coating is applied to the front and rear elements to make lens cleaning easier. The lens is expected to be available in January of 2011 at a retail price of $1,400. This following film was shot using only an EF8-15mm f/4L FISHEYE USM, EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D. For underwater footage, the cameras were encased in MDX-PRO 5D Mark II and MDX-7D camera housings and utilized a custom-made dome port. Here're the video review by DigitalRev:
