Panasonic today announces pricing for the 4 new cameras announced recently at PMA. The Lumix TS2 (aka FT2), ZS7 (aka TZ10) / ZS5 (aka TZ8), and ZR3 (aka ZX3) were announced without pricing information. Panasonic also announces today that all of the models will begin shipping in mid-March.

The rugged Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 will feature an MSRP of $399.95. The TS2 is shockproof from a height of 2m (the TS1 could withstand drops of 1.5m), waterproof to 10m (as opposed to the TS1's 3m) and freezeproof to -10C (like the TS1). It's also dust-proof. For increased durability, the Panasonic LUMIX TS2 will come with an optional silicon jacket that helps protect its exterior from scratches.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 (aka TZ10) is a compact ultra-zoom camera featuring an optically stabilised 25-300mm equivalent Leica lens, manual exposure control and built-in GPS, first Panasonic ultra-zoom to feature a built-in GPS unit. The location data where the photo was taken is automatically embedded with its latitude and longitude in the EXIF data. These geo-tagged images can be pinpointed on the maps of social media internet maps to be shared with the world. Plus, the ZS7 also shows the name of the town, area and landmarks using an internal database to give users real-time information of the place when taking photos. The Panasonic ZS7  has a 14.5-megapixel CCD and shoots at up to 12.1-megapixel resolution. The camera can also record 720p HD movies in Motion JPEG or AVCHD Lite format, and you can fully utilise the powerful 12x optical zoom in while filming. The ZS7 also features Dolby Digital Stereo Creator to record high-quality audio. SDXC card support and a 3", 460000-dot Intelligent LCD with anti-reflex coating round off the features list. The Panasonic ZS7 will be available from mid March in a choice of silver, black, red or blue.
The camera is being priced at $399.95

Successor to the hugely popular DMC-ZS1 (aka TZ6), Panasonic's new DMC-ZS5 (aka TZ8) comes with an optically stabilised 25-300mm lens in a compact body that offers 12.1 megapixels of resolution and manual exposure control. Comprising 10 elements in 8 groups, including 2 ED lenses and 2 aspherical lenses with 3 aspherical surfaces, and utilising new lens material in its design, this advanced lens unit realizes the outstandingly slim and compact body while passing Leica's stringent standards to deliver exceptional optical performance, the company claims. The new model has a 14.5-megapixel CCD and shoots with up to 12.1-megapixel resolution. The ZS5 features A, S and M exposure modes for creative photographers. 720p HD movie recording and SDXC support round off the features list. Availability is slated for mid March and will be priced at $299.95.

Successor to the highly regarded DMC-ZR1 (aka ZX1), Panasonic's new 14.1-megapixel Lumix DMC-ZR3 (aka ZX3) offers style and compactness whilst also boasting a powerful 8x optical zoom starting at 25mm. The 25-200mm lens comprises 9 elements in 7 groups, including 4 super thin aspherical lenses with 6 spherical surfaces. Thanks to the newly incorporated Intelligent Resolution technology, the new Intelligent Zoom is available with the ZR3 which extends the zoom ratio by approx.1.3x maintaining the picture quality even when using a digital zoom. This means the 8x optical can virtually extend to 10x equivalent. With the Intelligent Resolution technology, 3 areas - outlines, detailed texture areas and soft gradation areas - are automatically detected. The outline parts are enhanced effectively to give edges more clarity while giving a moderate accentuation to the texture areas to look more finely detailed. As a result, images are naturally clear and crisp in both photo and movie recording.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR3 is priced at $299.95. See below press announcement from Panasonic for more information:

Panasonic DMC-ZR3 Camera Reviews Roundup

CNET: "The digital zoom doesn't crop into the centre of the image like you might expect. Or it does, but then it blows it up to a full 14-megapixel file, which means you get all the pixels but a fraction of the definition. The extra optical zoom is more like conventional digital zooms, in that you just get a smaller, cropped image. The test chart detail comes out bright and clean, but, while the DMC-ZX3 is very good a..." - Mar 01 2010 More »
PhotographyBLOG: "The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX3 remains an excellent compact camera, but it's much less of an enjoyable surprise than its predecessor, with little really new on offer except for videographers. Still bridging the size gap between the smaller FX and larger TZ series cameras, the ZX3 inherits the 720p AVCHD Lite movie format, bringing with it a much-needed reduction in file size plus a very welcome one-touch record bu..." - Mar 01 2010 More »

The camera is easy to use and I like how all the buttons work. The zoom works very well and I love the 10x zoom. The stabilization works well with the zoom all the way out as well. Videos...

Fantastic little camera, keno - Jul 10 2010

The 8x zoom is great, especially nice that you can use it in movie mode. The video recording is quite good, in all different modes. I took some really good 4th of July fireworks movies in standard VGA and also in HD. The HDMI output works great wi...
