Olympus Stylus 9000 is a 12-megapixel compact digital camera that comes with 10x wide-angle optical dual image stabilized zoom (28 - 280mm equivalent in 35mm photography), In-Camera Panorama, TruePic III Image Processor, Compatible with xD Picture Cards and microSD memory cards, HDMI compatible, and a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal III LCD. The camera measures 3.8-inch W x 2.4-inch H x 1.2-inch D (96mm x 60mm x 31mm) and weighs 6.5oz (185g). Here is the summary of review from ePhotoZine, giving the camera a rating of 8 out of 10:

"What began as an impressive display of features and build quality slowly soured as I used the camera more and more. If this camera can be kept in normal balanced daylight that's bright enough to use a low ISO then the results will be acceptable. That's the problem, though. I'd expect them to be more than acceptable as a camera that sits higher than others in its range and no flashy graphics or lit up buttons can change that.

Olympus Mju 9000: Plus points
Nice design
Good build
Improved user interface

Olympus Mju 9000: Minus points
Noise problems at low ISO
White balance is too limited"

Olympus Stylus 9000 Camera Reviews Roundup

LetsGoDigital: "Whilst using the Mju 9000 in practice, we frequently stumbled over the complicated menu structure of the camera. Before you actually enter the menu, you have to pass some sort of start screen, which brings on a delay. The time required to recharge the flash was so long that it became annoying while shooting. Also when writing the captured files to the memory card, we encountered a delay of several seconds. The butto..." - Oct 20 2009 More »
DigitalCameraReview: "The Olympus Stylus-9000 finds itself in a category of camera just below the ultrazoom, but has just enough focal power to get itself out of the standard 3x zone. It aims to provide a broad spectrum of zoom range and 12 megapixels of high-resolution. The 12 megapixel club seems to the sweet spot where noise is filtered out because of larger pixel sites on DSLRs, but this mentality doesn't transfer well to the image s..." - Sep 11 2009 More »

GoodGearGuide: "Other useful features of the Olympus Mju 9000 include Shadow Adjust, which does a good job of illuminating a shadowed area in a bright picture; beauty mode, which airbrushes portraits; face detection; and a super-macro mode. It can shoot macros from as close as 1cm away and its narrow depth of field blurs the image around a centrally focused subject. Many of these features are also available on other Olympus c..." - Jun 15 2009 More »
CNET: "Compared with the TZ7 and SX200 IS, the Mju 9000's image quality was lackluster. We could tell that the three shooters' pictures are on par at ISO 200. But when we captured the same scene at ISO 400, the Canon and Panasonic shooters produced less noisy photos than the Olympus. At ISO 800, the SX200 IS performed the best, churning out shots that had the least noise and retained the most details. Take a look at the co..." - Jun 11 2009 More »
