Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS Camera Reviews Roundup
| DigitalCameraReview: "Image files produced by Canon's point and shoots are optimized for the bold bright hues and slightly flat contrast that some veteran shooters refer to as Canon Color - the SD100 IS doesn't stray far from that "family" identity. Native colors (default Canon color interpolation) are bright, hue accurate, and natural-looking, but visibly over-saturated. Reds are a little warm, blues are a bit bright, and gree..." - Jul 13 2010 More » | |
| ImagingResource: "Overall color is quite good, with only slight oversaturation in some reds and blues, and just a tiny bit of decreased saturation in bright yellows. Hue accuracy is also quite good, with only small shifts such as cyan toward blue and orange toward yellow (and some yellows toward green). Darker skin tones are pretty close, though a bit yellow, while lighter skin tones are just a shade pink. Good results here. The..." - May 15 2010 More » | |
| CameraLabs: "Canon's earlier IXUS 95 IS / SD1200 IS was one of the best-selling compacts of 2009, a feat the company clearly wants to repeat with the 2010 version. As such it's not surprising to find the new IXUS 105 / SD1300 IS slightly increasing its resolution and screen size to keep up with marketing demands, although the larger screen has sadly come at the cost of its predecessor's optical viewfinder. These viewfinders may..." - May 10 2010 More » | |
| TrustedReviews: "The IXUS 105's overall performance is pretty impressive. It starts up extremely quickly, and is ready to take a picture in well under two seconds. The shot-to-shot time in single shot mode is a little slow at 2.8 seconds, but there's none of the annoying response delay found with many other cheaper cameras. In continuous shooting mode it can maintain a rate of one shot every 1.6 seconds, which is again a bit on the..." - Apr 26 2010 More » | |
| DigitalReview: "We were very pleased with the performance of the Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS in our tests. The camera powers up responsively, and the comfortably positioned zoom lever surrounding the shutter button makes framing images a simple step. The 4x image stabilized zoom lens incorporated into the Canon SD1300 IS provides good image quality capabilities. Edge to edge image detail is quite good although some corner softne..." - Apr 02 2010 More » | |
| Pocket-lint: "The IXUS 105's clearly presented and easily navigated menus are divided up between shooting options and set-up folders, the latter mainly governing sound and LCD brightness options, as well as the ability to format the card in use or reset all settings to the factory defaults. Here image stabilisation can also be adjusted to operate continuously, kick in when taking a shot only, when panning with the camera or deact..." - Mar 21 2010 More » | |
| TechRadar: "No argument: the Ixus 105 is a great camera. It's capable of taking excellent pictures, but its price at release - £190 - strikes us as a little high. For only around a tenner more you can have the Canon IXUS 120, which is nearly identically-specified but offers 720p video into the bargain. We liked: The 105's image performance is everything we've come to expect from Canon's mid-range shooters. Even at ISO 1600..." - Mar 19 2010 More » | |
| CNET: "the 105 is nothing special. Sure, it offers a great design, finish and build quality, but the zoom range and picture quality alone certainly don't justify the price. You can get similar results from cameras that cost much less than this. You also start to notice the things you don't get as much as the things you do. If you want high-definition movies and Canon's new focus-tracking feature, you'll have to shell..." - Mar 12 2010 More » |
Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS Camera Recent User Reviews
Horrible product, DJJ - Jul 27 2010
We bought this camera as a replacement for an older Canon Powershot the day before going on a trip. ALL the pictures came out blurry...really, really disappointing. I have since taken the same exact photo with this camera and the old one - its like night and day. Everything is either slightly out of focus or blurry - and its not user error! Just not sure how Canon can sell this shoddy...
Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS, hmayukh - Jul 24 2010
NOTE: I returned this camera to Amazon - but here's the review anyway. Pros: 1) Good point-and-shoot - works alright in most cases. 2) Small, sleek, light and handy. Fits in your pocket. 3) Zoom during recording video (some older models did not have this functionality). 4) Face detection works suprisingly well. Cons: 1) Overexposure in Auto mode, sometimes. 2) No manual mode. Not ev...
Excellent camera, James H. Taylor - Jul 09 2010
Excellent little camera. Very light and easy to take with on trips and such. Takes excellent pictures and is very user friendly. I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting a good priced camera that takes good quality pictures....
SD1300, Christphr Knaggs - Jul 06 2010
The product is good and delivery was very quick. Picture quality is excellent, but as other reviewers noted there is some manual entries that have to be made for certain conditions - the auto feature is not as good as I would like. I miss the viewfinder, but knew it wouldn't be part of this product. It's so small I almost forget it is in my pocket when out and about - makes it very...
