Sony today announces six new Cyber-shot models ranging in price from $110 to $230 - models DSC-W510, DSC-W530, DSC-W560, DSC-W570 as well as DSC-T110 and DSC-H70. These W-series models feature Sweep Panorama mode, SteadyShot image stabilization that reduces blur, iAuto mode that automatically optimizes camera settings plus Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology.
The DSC-W570 camera will be available in silver, black, pink and violet this February for about $180. Features include:

slow ........, justafan
Sony usually make good electronics but this is their 2nd camera that I'm disappointed with. This one has slow processor. It takes few seconds for it to process the picture taken. I know this is an inexpensive camera but that is yesterday's technology. recently I went on a walking tour where you pretty much have to take quick snap shots and move on. This camera couldn't keep up. It's ok if you have all day to take photos. This is not a camera to snap pictures quick. I'm in the process of shopping for a new camera. Can't stand the slow response of this Sony Cybershot.

I did try several other brands like Canon, Olympus and Fujifilm. When I bought my Sony Alpha I was so happy with it that my next purchase was Sony Cyber-Shot for travelling. Absolutely sufficient for an amateur.

Great Camera for indoor pics, TDB
Ive been using it for a few months now and it is a great little camera. It takes perfect pic inside with and without flash. Outside pics are also great. It dont take to long to take the pic, great reviews and easy to download. I replaced my kodak for this and I am so glad.

This was a birthday gift for my 13 year and after taking a looking at the cam and playing around with it I was so impressed I want to buy for myself!!! I love it and so did my daughter! Takes beautiful keen shots and they look professional. Awesomeness!!!! - However, I we didn't get too many uses out of it after two weeks, the camera ended up defected because the shutter did not close when being shut off and there is a buzzing sound like trying to do its thing and shut off. I have done the troubleshooting on it per Sony's website and reset it but didn't do anything for it. I'm bummed out! I would suggest that if you are making this type of purchase online let it be a new product, and not used as it were probably just adjusted and resold to get rid of fast!

I have had this camera for nearly a year now and am not happy at all. When I purchased it I went on the reviews, back then, they were all basically good. If I knew what I know now, I would never have purchased this camera. I can take 4 pictures on auto setting in a row and only 1 will come out decent. How can that even happen? Nothing changed? The shutter speed is horrible. There is a long lag time between shots. Gee maybe that is why they come out blurry, natural lighting has changed in the minutes it has taken to take the 4 pictures!
I have pets, I cannot take pictures of them even with the Pet setting. I love to take pictures of fireworks, you can forget that with this camera. If you do not have the perfect lighting, you will not get a decent picture. There are times that it takes a while for the lens to even come out when I go into zoom mode, almost as if the camera isn't recognizing it what it has to do. I have never experienced this with any other camera I have owned, and I have owned many in my (many) years of taking pictures (how many can say they remember the brownie camera lol).
I cannot recommend this camera to anyone but a child learning to shoot . It's not worth the money. It has gone down in price drastically since I purchased and I can see why. This is a disgrace to the Sony name! Sony has much cheaper camera's that take better pictures than this one. My daughter will be getting married in May. I am currently looking for a camera that I know I can rely on, not one that takes 1 out of 4 pictures that come out clear.
Sony Quality is going down - Bought 3 digital cameras and all broke..., globetrotter
I'll preface this review by saying that I'm a lifelong Sony customer. I've purchased their products for years. TVs, DVD players, digital cameras, video cameras, etc. Before, you bought a Sony and you could depend on a quality product, typically lasting forever. Those days seem to be gone.
I purchased 3 Sony digital cameras for my family and myself. Last Christmas I gave my mother in law this camera.
The quality has gone way down. ALL 3 of these cameras broke including a brand new DSC-H90 that we bought. All had the same problem. The screen just goes black. The same thing happened to all of them so obviously there is some major design flaw.
Fortunately on all of them I saved the receipt and they were all under warranty. I sent them in to the Sony repair center in Houston, Texas. I have to say I was not pleased with how long it took to get it back. My last one that I sent in, it took a very long time and communication was poor. I was dealing with Mr. Vargas out of the Houston repair center. He told me the parts to fix it were on back order so he said they would send a new camera upgrade. Only to tell me the next day to forget it and the parts will come in and they would send the old one.
I emailed him to tell him my disappointment that ALL 3 Sony cameras I bought in the last year all had the same problem and he admitted that there was a design problem with the motherboard and the engineers were working on it in Japan.
The frustrating part is that my camera was in repair and I didn't have it for a vacation so I had to rush out and buy a new digital camera for the trip. I bought the DSC-H90 and believe it or not, that camera too is having the same problem with the screen going black!
Sony should do a major recall on ALL of their digital cameras that are affected by this "design flaw". It was extremely inconvenient to have to go out and buy a new camera because it took too long to fix.

I bought this camera before my son could walk. Other than it was really slow to take the next picture it was just okay. Now I have a two yr old and he is constantly running and EVERY photo is blurry. If you try to use the "action" mode then the flash doesn't work- so don't even bother trying to take an indoor photo. I spend way too much money on it considering I miss all the good moments because it takes too long to take the next photo and ANY action photo is blurry. I like my old Kodak easy share. NOT A GOOD CAMERA FOR EVEN THE SLIGHTEST ACTION PHOTO.
