| While sales of film cameras at retail stores has become a rare event, many film SLRs still have an active place on eBay. PMA Marketing Research utilized the eBay Marketplace Research tool to look up key statistics for the most popular film cameras sold on eBay. Topping the list was the Canon EOS-AE-1 film camera which sold for an average price of $59 at auction and $45 on “Buy It Now” sales.
There are a few things to keep in mind when interpreting the data. The information included in the chart below covers the two-week period ending June 6th. Due to the descriptions used by sellers some of the listings included in the averages are just accessories and also sometimes bundles or kits are listed.
